Professional Bio

Hasaani Hylton, a nationally recognized Restorative Justice (RJ) Practitioner and Master Trainer, possesses more than two decades of experience in supporting individuals, communities, and institutions through transformative change. As a Master Trainer with an innate passion for educating and empowering, Hasaani has dedicated her work to supporting others through restorative practices, training facilitation, coaching, and more. With a special focus on program design and implementation strategy, her work spans across a myriad of sectors, primarily in the areas of juvenile and adult justice systems, education, and community engagement. One of her most notable contributions to the RJ movement is the hundreds of professionals and community members nationwide she has trained in the philosophy and practices of restorative justice, specifically restorative circle facilitation. Hasaani has also trained and certified hundreds of professionals in the highly impactful curriculum of Mental Health First Aid, helping to support the process of understanding and demystifying mental health, combating its various stigmas.

Working with influential populations, such as returning citizens serving as Credible Messengers and Violence Interrupters, Ms. Hylton fulfills her passion for enhancing effective community justice initiatives through training and implementation support. Specialized restorative coaching opportunities through University of San Diego’s Center for Justice Reform have provided her with the wherewithal to efficaciously impact unique restorative programming efforts, not only for returning citizens, but also for those serving in restorative leadership roles while incarcerated. To further support the vast needs of those involved in the juvenile and adult justice systems, Hasaani has formed a National Advisory Council for Justice-involved Individuals, comprised of both currently and formerly incarcerated persons throughout various regions of North America.

Aside from her focus on supporting entities in other communities around the country, Ms. Hylton has proudly supported her hometown of Washington, D.C. in its efforts to become a more restorative city. Through training, technical assistance, curriculum development, and direct services, she has had the honor to work with several local agencies including, but not limited to: District of Columbia Public School System (DCPS), Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS), Family Court Social Services Division (CSSD), Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA), Office of Attorney General for the District of Columbia (OAG-DC), and United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia (USAO-DC). Now serving as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Humanity Investment Group, Inc., Hasaani utilizes a restorative and philanthropic approach to enhance the quality of life for individuals, families and communities worldwide.
